Breiðholt Festival invites RAF guests to float around the swimming pool Ölduselslaug, while listening to music coming from underwater loudspeakers. The works in question were all composed for film or TV by Icelandic composers with different connections to the Breiðholt area.
Most of these works have received numerous nominations and awards. Pétur Ben received the Edda Award this year for his score for TV series Prisoners and Daníel Bjarnason was awarded the Harpa Nordic Film Composers Award for his score for Under the Tree. Visitors to the pool will also hear Hildur Guðnadóttir and Jóhann Jóhannsson’s score for Mary Magdalene and Ben Frost’s music for Dark as well as music composed for The Swan by Örvar Smárason and Gunnar Tynes (múm).
After taking a dip in the pool, guests could do worse than sample the delicacies of the international food market located poolside.
